Ten individuals found guilty of cyber-bullying targeting Brigitte Macron

A Paris court has found guilty ten people for perpetrating the digital intimidation of Brigitte Macron, the spouse of French President, Emmanuel Macron.
The accused individuals faced allegations of circulating untruths regarding her gender identity and sexuality, in addition to posting hurtful comments about the couple's age disparity of 24 years.
The court handed down suspended jail terms of as much as eight months to the perpetrators. The full ruling has still to be made public.
A longstanding conspiracy theory suggesting that Brigitte Macron is a trans woman has existed since her husband's first electoral victory in 2017.
This recent ruling in France is concurrent with the Macrons pursuing a defamation lawsuit in the United States against political commentator Candace Owens, who has repeatedly shared analogous false narratives about the Brigitte Macron's gender.
Their lawsuit contends that Owens ignored substantial counter-evidence contradicting her allegations opting to give a platform to established defamers.
Owens has often echoed these claims on her digital program and social networks, and in March 2024 stated that she would bet her whole career on her insistence that Mrs. Macron is biologically male.
Brigitte Macron first met her future husband when she taught at his secondary school.
The pair entered into matrimony in 2007, when the then-29-year-old Emmanuel Macron was 29 and she was approximately 54 years old.
